  The Universal Chrome's music is lush and aggressive, yet melodic and beautiful with a touch of dreamy discord. Combining pop sensibility with raw driving power, they create indie music as it was meant to be heard; simple and emotionally charged.
  
  Originally based out of New Orleans, the band moved to New York City in 99 to peruse better stomping grounds. They have opened for the likes of: The Jesus Lizard, Hum, Swervedriver, The Starlight Mints, Enon, and others. The band is on semi-hiatus and all three original members are currently performing side projects. The Chrome recently played a reunion show in New Orleans in Feb 2003 with members from the band Orange Eye filling in guitar and vocal duties.
