David William - Vocals & Guitars

  Hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland, David William was a relative latecomer to music, picking up a guitar for the first time when he was 18 yrs old. Inspired to do so by the Britpop scene of the time, he soon became obsessed with music new and old, and was writing songs before he could play guitar properly (something he still hasn't got round to doing!).
  
  Imagine the sound of a fine wine being poured, a coal fire burning on a cold winter's night, the screech of a knife on a plate as you cut through an uncompromising steak.... Well, that's not the sound of David William's music. Describing it is no easy task. What remains constant are the subtle melodies that weave their way into your head. The dreamy, thought-provoking lyrics that at first glance appear random statements only to reveal the nuances of everyday life and the thoughts and feelings running through your own head. Framed inside atmospheric arrangements with the odd chord twist here and there, the musical influences in these songs are not always clear. Neil Finn, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Neil Young, Travis, Dave Dobbyn, The Smiths and Simon & Garfunkel are notable mentions.
  
  So far, David's music has received some radio play, most notably on Manx Radio, and two of his songs, "Come & Go" and "One Way Ticket" made it to the Final stages of the UK Songwriting Comptetition 2005.
