  Preston Edwards, Born to Yvonne S.W. Carr and Micheal Edwards in October 2, 1977 is now known as Platinum P (A.K.A. Plat), one of the head lining artist from Hype Entertainment. He was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Fl and has been influeced by a number of artists throughout his life such as: Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass, Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers,Earth Wind and Fire, Aretha Franklin, Brian McKnight, Stevie Wonder, H-Town, Shai, Silk, and Boyz 2 Men. He has two children, Alliyah Edwards, 8 Preshai Edwards, 7 and a sister Tameika Edwards. Preston has generated many songs in the the various genres of hip-hop, r&b, and soul. His background includes gospel singing/songwriting and performances with various instruments, mainly the bass guitar, piano, and drums. All I know is that the music industry had better brace themselves, between his love for the music and his patened way of melodicaly combining old school soul with hip new beats i'm sure he will be a force to be reconed with.
